Picker Picnic

Free For All - Approximately 700 people filled Lion’s Park last Sunday when the annual picker picnic took place in celebration of Saint-Jean Baptiste Day, honouring French Canadian culture and farm workers in the area. There was musical entertainment by Milan Starcic, Bobby Bovenzi and Toby LaVoie. People decorated each other at the “beauty tent” and simply relaxed in good company. And the food: Seven hundred hotdogs, 500 samosas, four pots of baked beans and 10 loaves of focaccia bread – all served in less than an hour.
