Motorists are advised to use extra caution downtown after a child was struck on Main Street this afternoon.
A vehicle was making a left turn (heading south) onto Main Street from Bank Avenue when it struck a youth on the crosswalk.
The bright sunshine made it difficult for the driver to see the youth who was with another child in the middle of the crosswalk. The front bumper of the car apparently struck the youth lightly, with no injuries to report.
The youth continued walking and the driver pulled over to confirm the child was okay.
Drivers are asked to use extreme caution when they are blinded by sunshine downtown.
