Cloudy with chance of showers
Environment Canada is reporting that the weather today in and around Osoyoos will be mainly cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers. It will remain partly cloudy overnight, with a 40 per cent chance of showers this event. The daytime high will be 12, with the overnight low will drop to 2.
On Wednesday, there will be increasing cloudiness, with a 30 per cent chance of showers late in the afternoon. The wind will start blowing from the south at 30 km/h, gusting to 50 in the afternoon. The daytime high will be 11 and it will become cloudy at night with a 70 per cent chance of showers and overnight low of 3.
Kimberley faces 100 Mile House in KIJHL championship
The Kimberley Dynamiters and 100 Mile House Wranglers will meet in the championship series in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
The Dynamiters defeated the defending league champion Beaver Valley Nitehawks 3-1 in Kimberley Monday night to wrap up their best-of-seven championship series in five games.
Meanwhile, the Wranglers also defeated the Summerland Steam by a score of 3-1 in 100 Mile House Monday night to also wrap up their series in five games.
The Steam knocked off the Osoyoos Coyotes in six games in the division final to advance to the conference final against 100 Mile House.
The best-of-seven championship series will begin Thursday night in Kimberley.
Kimberley were the 2015-16 KIJHL regular season champions.
Osoyoos hit by power outage
Numerous residences and businesses in Osoyoos were without electricity in the early morning hours on Tuesday.
A large segment of the town was without power between 4:45 and 5:30 a.m., however, the power was restored after the brief outage and there were no more reported problems as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
