April kicks off the Canadian Cancer Society’s Daffodil month.

Starting Friday, cut daffodils as well as plastic daffodil pins will be on sale at various locations in Osoyoos to raise money for the fight against this terrible disease.

Later in April, on the 24th, the Canadian Cancer Society holds its Daffodil Dash fundraiser. This is the second year the event has been held in Osoyoos and it replaces the more costly Relay for Life.

Rally puts Osoyoos on the map

Yesterday’s rally to save Osoyoos schools has put this town on the map with news reports reaching throughout the province and beyond.

The rally occurred too late to get anything but one photo in this week’s Osoyoos Times, but we have full coverage on OsoyoosTimes.com, including lots of photos and some raw, unedited video showing the enthusiastic participation from a wide cross section of the community.

The school board votes next Wednesday, April 6 on whether to close one of our schools or delay the decision to allow a solution to be found. Check our editorial in today’s Osoyoos Times.

Enjoy the sunshine

Some more great weather is forecast for the next few days. Today’s high, according to Environment Canada, will be 20 C, with sunshine every day from now till Friday. On Thursday temperatures should peak at 22 C, before dropping to 16 C and cloudy for Saturday.

Lots more sunshine ahead!
