The past two months have been extremely busy for Osoyoos Royalty Queen Emma Fernandes, Princess Tianna Morgan and myself, Princess Bailey Toepfer.

We started November with the Osoyoos Soroptimists’ annual fashion show, where we were privileged to show off some great fashions from Wander Cafe.

We would like to send a big thank you to Andrea Kuzmak for allowing us to wear her amazing outfits to this great event.

We then took part in the Remembrance Day service, held at the Sonora Centre on Nov. 11. We placed a wreath to honour our Veterans and remember all those who fought and still are fighting to help keep our freedoms.

Thank you to the Desert Sun Counselling and Resource Centre for allowing us to help at their successful Empty Bowl Fundraiser.

We want to thank everyone who purchased Regal items, Purdy’s chocolates and meat orders from the Royalty, to help us in our fundraising efforts.

It was greatly appreciated.

On Nov. 28, we attended the Osoyoos Seniors’ Centre annual Craft Sale. We were pleased to greet people and work at selling their cookbook.

That same afternoon, Queen Emma and I attended the Festival of the Trees at Spirit Ridge Vineyard Resort and Spa, where we spent some good times at the craft centre with kids, working on crafts and playing in the bouncy castles.

We also helped local photographer Nikki Dawn as she took pictures of the kids with Santa.

It was a nice to see such a great turnout from the community for the Christmas Lite-up parade.

We got to be a part of this great event as Santa’s helpers.

Thank you to our little buddies for coming out and enjoying the great time singing and waving to the crowd.

On Dec. 5, we had another opportunity to see Santa during this busy time of year at the Breakfast with Santa sponsored by the Osoyoos Childcare Centre. We got to help out with the pictures that were being taken with Santa. We also greeted people at the door as they came in. That same afternoon, we were able to attend the Osoyoos Credit Union Membership Appreciation Day, serving coffee and treats to local members.  It was great to be able to help at local events like this.

As December comes to an end, we had one more event to attend, Rocking With Santa, held at the Sun Bowl Arena on Dec. 19. Again, we made crafts with the kids and had a great time socializing with their families.

We will be holding a meeting in January at Osoyoos Secondary School for interested candidates. Please watch for details on the posters.

As you can see, the last two months have been very busy for us.  On behalf of all us in the Royalty program, we would like to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Thank you.
