The Sun Bowl Skating Club kicked off their 2025-2026 competitive season with an outstanding performance at the 2025 Okanagan Interclub Competition in Merritt on Nov. 28-30. 

Hosted by the Nicola Valley Skating Club, the event brought together talented athletes from across the region, and Sun Bowl SC’s skaters delivered exceptional results, said Patricia Fortunato, Head Coach, Sun Bowl Skating Club.

Eight local athletes represented the club across 11 events, earning impressive placements and personal successes, she added.

Alexa A – 7th place (16.00 pts)

Collectively, the team brought home two gold, five silver, and three bronze finishes, along with two personal best scores – “a fantastic start to the season,” said Fortunado.

“The coaches and entire club community are incredibly proud of each and every competitor. Congratulations to all Sun Bowl Skating Club athletes on their achievements!” she said.

The public is invited to cheer on the club live at their Holiday Showcase: “Winter’s Playground,” Thursday, Dec. 18 at 6 p.m. “Come see these skaters shine on home ice at the Sun Bowl Arena!”
