An Osoyoos man is facing weapons charges following a domestic dispute on Old Richter Pass Road in Kilpoola on March 30.
Bryce Lyons, born in 1948, has been charged with careless use of a firearm, possessing a weapon for dangerous purposes and assault.
He is scheduled to appear in Penticton provincial court on May 5.
Cpl. Mike Field of the Oliver RCMP confirmed that a man had threatened his wife and adult daughter with a firearm at roughly 6 p.m. on March 30 and that the two women had wrestled it from his hands.
The man received a bullet wound to his thigh in the process.
Cpl. Dan Moskaluk of the Osoyoos RCMP detachment said the man was taken into police custody and then sent to Penticton Regional Hospital for medical treatment.
He was released from police custody after being discharged from the hospital on April 4, Moskaluk said, and must abide by a number of strict conditions in the meantime.
These include no contact with his wife or daughter, no possessing of a firearm or weapon and the man cannot enter a liquor store.
Moskaluk said alcohol was involved in the incident.
The man must also report regularly to a bail supervisor.
