One person is facing charges after an accident on Highway 97 north of Osoyoos Sunday night.

Just after 6 p.m., RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision at Deadman Lake near Road 20.

A Subaru Forester was travelling north bound when a south bound GMC Sierra crossed the centre line and collided with the Subaru’s front driver’s side, Osoyoos RCMP Sgt. Jason Bayda said.

A male and female from the Subaru were taken to the hospital for assessment of minor injuries.

“The male driver of the GMC Sierra refused treatment and will be facing charges under the Motor Vehicle Act,” Bayda said. “He is a resident of Osoyoos and well known to police.”

Both vehicles were rendered inoperable and towed from the scene.
