RCMP are now providing details of a serious assault following a Christmas party which put an Osoyoos man in the hospital with injuries.
Police have identified one suspect as a 22-year-old man from Peachland an are asking for the public’s assistance in locating the second alleged attacker.
On Dec. 14 at 11:50 p.m., the Osoyoos RCMP responded to a call of a man who was seriously injured on Cottonwood Drive. Kyle Bourdon was allegedly assaulted and beaten according to the GoFundMe page set up to assist with medical bills. Bourdon, an employee of AG Foods, was in an altercation on Dec. 14 following a staff Christmas party, according to his grand uncle Ron Bradley, who set up the online fundraiser.
“Through video surveillance we now know the 31-year-old victim from Osoyoos was earlier socializing at a pub with three other men and one woman,” Sgt. Jason Bayda, Osoyoos RCMP commander said in a press release.
The victim departed the pub before the others who left shortly after, police said, a block away from the pub, the victim and two of the men got into a physical altercation at which time one of the men struck the victim in the head with a wine bottle.
One man has been identified by police as a 22-year-old man from Peachland, and police expect an arrest is imminent.
We are confident this was an isolated incident between the parties and there is no threat to the public,” Bayda said.
Our officers have made good progress on this investigation and I expect the arrest of the one man will be imminent, however we are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the second involved man.”
The suspect is described by police as.
- approximately 6’1 tall
- early to mid-twenties
- medium length light brown hair
- possible goatee
- slim
- wears glasses
- was wearing red hoodie with the word ‘OBEY’ in white across the front
- dark pants
- rubber boots
