The once yearly large item curbside garbage collection will happen in Osoyoos on April 11, 2023.
The town collects a maximum of two large items per household that satisfy the conditions of acceptability.
Common household items that are allowed include furniture, large appliances and mattresses. The max weight of each item has to be under 90 kg (200 lbs).
Electronics such as TV’s and computers or small appliances such as toasters and microwaves, are not accepted.
These items have to be taken to a recycling depot.
Appliances with FREON are not accepted, such as fridges, air conditioners or freezers; these must go to the landfill.
No renovation waste is allowed either, such as carpet, toilets, bathtubs, plumbing, and doors; these all must go to the landfill also.
Gas powered items will not be collected, such as mowers, and weed eaters; these are required to be taken to the landfill.
