This summer the Town of Osoyoos will have a fire prevention expert to help keep the community safe.
The Town has hired Robert Huttema as Deputy Fire Chief of Fire Prevention effective June 27.
Huttema brings more than 25 years of firefighting experience and extensive training in the field. He was most recently the fire prevention officer for the City of Dawson Creek Fire Department.
Huttema and his wife have four children.
The Town of Osoyoos is confident that Huttema brings the skills, knowledge and personal suitability that will assist Osoyoos in meeting its present and future challenges in the fire department.
Fire Chief Corey Kortmeyer said they look forward to Huttema joining the team and continuing the excellent service that Osoyoos Fire Rescue provides to the community.
