Students at Osoyoos Elementary School got a lesson this week in caring for the environment.
On Friday, students from kindergarten and all grades did a clean-up of the front school grounds as they marked Earth Day. Older children picked up litter elsewhere on the school grounds and on streets and parks in the community.
The kindergarten children taught by Rebecca Bayda and Lisa Kunz were chomping at the bit to start hunting for trash and their faces lit up with pride every time they found a piece of litter and ran it over to a larger bag.
On Tuesday, some members of the B.C. Lions came to the school to talk to students about energy conservation.
