Laura Devries from the Sun Bowl Skating Club was awarded Program Assistant of the Year for the Okanagan Region. Devries, pictured with some of the club’s younger skaters she works with, has been a PA with the club for eight years. Even with her busy Grade 12 school program, she always came out to the club to teach CanSkate. “She is patient, positive and always has a kind word of encouragement,” the club said. “The club would not have been able to deliver the CanSkate program so smoothly without her as a PA and such a positive role model for all the skaters.” (Contributed photo)
