For the past eight weeks more than 250 Osoyoos Elementary School students have been participating in a daily “Learn to Run” clinic spearheaded by teacher Dean Rowland. This program saw students from Kindergarten to Grade 7 engaging in daily run training in anticipation of completing the 5 km or 10 km fun run on Sunday May 24. This is the third year this program has been running at this school and Sunday’s event marked the third annual Community Run that saw students, their family members and some teachers out running the course for the betterment of their health. Sunday’s race had more than 80 participants. Students who were unable to attend the race day due to other commitments will have a chance to complete the course and reach their goal of completing a 5 km or 10 km during the school day.
