The Town of Osoyoos and Interior Health recommend all individuals should be boiling water for a minimum of one minute or find a safe alternative until further notice.

Water intended for drinking, washing ready-to-eat fruits and vegetables, making beverages, ice, or brushing teeth should be boiled for a minimum of one minute.

The town says the notices are to address the increased levels of turbidity in the Town’s domestic water supply system. When asked about this last week Town staff said the turbidity was caused by increased water usage which stirred up the sediment in the water supply lines.

The Town also reminded homeowners to notify tenants, visitors, or other building occupants of the boil water notice.

Town crews are currently working in the affected areas conducting water quality monitoring and flushing the water distribution system.
