Open burning restrictions are in place for residents in the Oliver Fire Protection Area effective until April 15.
No new fires may be initiated and no additional material may be added to existing fires.
The ban includes all properties within the Town of Oliver and Electoral Area C (rural Oliver).
As cases of COVID-19 in BC continues to increase, the BC Centre for Disease Control recommended implementing measures to help reduce excess air pollution in populated air sheds across the province.
This ban does not include campfires and fires in portable wood burning fireplaces. The ban does not restrict fires in stoves using gas, propane or briquettes.
To report a fire, unattended campfire or fire violations, call 911.
