The Oliver/Osoyoos Search and Rescue (OOSAR) responded on Friday, Oct. 4 at 1:33 p.m. to a request from BC Emergency Health Services to assist with rescuing an injured individual on a local trail.
A response team of seven was deployed, with five members locating the subject, OOSAR said on its social media page.
Following an assessment of the individual helicopter extrication was deemed necessary. “Our team evaluated, stabilized, and prepared the subject for transport. Upon arrival of a Penticton-based helicopter with PENSAR personnel, our members facilitated patient loading and transport to a waiting ambulance at Penticton Airport.”
