Oliver’s thrift store may be getting bigger depending on a development permit application to expand the shop on Kootenay Street.
Town council will hear the application tonight at its regular meeting.
In his report, Director of Development Services Randy Houle said the proposal is to construct a 299 square metre addition to the existing building. This will offer more retail and storage space.
Houle said the addition will be modest in height and will blend well with the existing building.
He noted the landscaping and screening will be “improved vastly,” featuring two trees at the front entrance, screening garbage and recycling bins, and multiple trees and shrubs in the front yard.
Houle said public notification was not required as no variances are proposed.
