The Oliver Detachment of the RCMP were busy responding to a number of calls this past week, including a break-in at the Oliver Tim Horton’s location.

On January 12, 2015 an Oliver resident called the Oliver Detachment to report that January 05, 2015 his 2001 Ford F150 truck was parked in front of the Oliver Curling Rink between 12 noon and 3 pm while he was curling.  When he returned to his vehicle he was surprised to find the driver side door had been tampered with and the ignition column of his vehicle had wires hanging out.  The damage appeared to have been caused in an effort to steal the vehicle.

On January 14, 2015 an Oliver resident living in the 6600 block of Park Drive called the Oliver Detachment to report the attempted theft of his 2000 Ford F-150 pickup.  The attempted theft during the day time and while the complainant was away at work.

Oliver Detachment File #: 2015-161 refers

On January 17, 2015 at 0541 Hrs the Oliver Detachment of the RCMP were contacted regarding a male wearing all black, and a dark coloured backpack trying to open vehicles in a parking lot in the area of 6300 block Park Drive. The complainant reported the suspect gaining entry into a black Ford Pickup. Police attended and confirmed that a black Ford F150 that was entered and that the door handle was broken off.  A witness confirmed that she was heading out to get her morning coffee when she saw her brother in law’s vehicle start and a male sitting inside. The witness thought the male was her brother but to her surprise it was someone else wearing dark clothing and a black toque. The male was unable to operate the vehicle and was observed to be walking toward the town of Oliver. Police patrols failed to locate this individual.

Oliver Detachment File # 2015-201 refers

On January 17, 2015 at 09:19 Hrs Oliver RCMP members were dispatched to an attempt of theft of a grey Chevrolet Pick-up in the 100 block of McGowan Road.  The complainant advised that the attempted theft occurred sometime the past evening between 22:00 Hrs and 04:00 Hrs. Damage was done to driver side key hole and the ignition panel was removed and damaged.

Oliver Detachment File # 2105-207 refers

On January 17, 2015 at 10:30 Hrs Oliver RCMP Detachment members were dispatched to an attempted theft of a vehicle file in the 100- Block of McGowan Road. The investigator confirmed that  the passenger side door lock/keyhole of a Ford Super-cab had been damaged by what looked like a screwdriver or a ply wedge.

On January 19 2015 at 03:33 Hrs Oliver Detachment members were dispatched to a Break Enter & Theft at the Oliver Tim Horton’s.  Investigators confirmed that the culprits forced their way into the store and stole 3 cash register drawers each containing a small amount of change.

Oliver Detachment File # 2015-237 refers

On January 19, 2015 an Oliver resident residing in the 6400 Block of Wolf Cub Place reported that between the hours of 02:00 and 07:00 Hours some unknown persons stole a 1996 Red Dodge pickup and a flat deck trailer from a parking spot beside his residence.
