A new emergency alert system has been launched in the Town of Oliver.

Canada’s Wine Capital has chosen the Voyent Alert! notification service to keep residents informed during emergencies as well as day-to-day announcements.

Voyent Alert! is a multi-purpose communication service used to send alerts to residents, businesses, and visitors during critical events such as wildfires, floods, landslides or hazardous spills.  Now, evacuation routes, alerts, and notices can be communicated to each resident within seconds.

The Town says this technology can help alleviate communication challenges caused by COVID-19  and can provide unique ways to maintain connection and engage citizens.

In less than a minute, residents can register to receive emergency alerts and day-to-day notifications. The service is free, easy to use, personalized and anonymous.

To register for email, text or phone notifications, visit: https://voyent-alert.com/ca/community/  Alternatively, you can call the Town of Oliver and staff can assist with your registration.

You can download the Voyent Alert! app at the App Store or Google Play.
