The Oliver Fire Department (OFD) celebrated its firefighters dedicated to the safety of Oliver the rural district with the department’s annual awards and recognition night recently.
“This is an evening where we give thanks to our firefighters for the continued dedication to the department and to give recognition to achievements throughout the year,” the OFD said in a social media post.
This year the dinner was hosted by The Flealess Hound Pub which provided the meal and space to have the event.
Several awards were handed out including 5 Years of Service – Lieutenant Mike Ferreira and Firefighter Glen Smith; for 20 Years of Service Deputy Chief Rob Graham, for achieving all requirements to be an Interior Level Firefighter, Ryan Encina; for his Long Service and for becoming a Life Member of the OFD, Ret. Chief Bob Graham; and for the inaugural Firefighter of the Year as nominated by his peers, Firefighter Jason Schafer.
“We thank everyone for their exceptional work throughout 2024 and are encouraged by their continuing support and dedication to the safety of the Town and Rural District of Oliver,” the OFD said.
