An Oliver RCMP officer is being lauded for his keen observational skills this week in the arrest of a man suspected of the attempted murder of a Langley couple.

Thomas Charles Brydges, 73, was arrested on a Canada wide warrant on Tuesday.

Langley RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Holly Largy said the officer was working general duty when he recognized Brydges from a bulletin fanned out by Langley police.

It was reported the suspect was cooperative with the arresting officer and taken into custody without incident.

Police had been seeking the public’s help locating Brydges who is suspected of attempting to murder two Langley residents in the Aldergrove area.

Largy said police were called to an RV park in Aldergrove after a man and woman were severely injured, allegedly by Brydges. The woman remains in critical condition while the male was expected to be released from hospital.

Largy said Brydges is known to be extremely violent.
