Another game, another victory for the Hornets.
The Southern Okanagan Secondary School Hornets won their fourth-straight game Thursday, jumping out to a 18-point lead in the first quarter, and cruising to a 69-46 victory over Similkameen Elementary High School from Keremeos.
SOSS extended that lead to 20 points at the half, holding a 44-24 advantage. The game was never in doubt through the second half, allowing head coach Mo Basso to play around with his line-up more than he normally would.
“In second we pushed the lead to as much as 30 points, thus allowing the bench to get some quality time, said Basso. “We were led by Austin Basso with 17 points. Raj Bahniwal posted his second double double with 16 points and 13 boards. Gurshan Dhaliwal poured in 14 as well.”
The Hornets improved their record to 18-12 with the home win.
“All in all we are starting to show much promise, especially with the fast start in tonight’s game,” added Basso. “We remind our players to start evaluating your play and lets look to work on what can make you and the team better.”
The Hornets will be at Maggie next week to play against Kalamalka, and Kelowna Christian on Friday. SOSS will finish the weekend playing against #7 ranked Valleyview of Kamloops.
The Hornets are currently ranked 10th with their win over Summerland last Wednesday, they earned the right to host playoff games Feb 11-12th.
