Some exciting changes are afoot at the Oliver Chronicle.
Dale Cory will be the new associate publisher starting July 2. He brings 25 years of editorial/publishing experience to the Chronicle. And he’s a sports fan too, which will be an asset to our coverage.
Robert Doull, president of Aberdeen Publishing, said Cory is coming from their sister publication, Vue Weekly in Edmonton.
“We are delighted that he has agreed to come to Oliver and we think that his presence will add a new dimension of community engagement for the paper. We look forward to welcoming him to the Chronicle,” Doull said.
Cory has been active as a volunteer in service organizations and as a coach. He plays baseball and has been the announcer for the basketball games at the University of Alberta.
In other news, reporter Erin Christie has been given a promotion as editor of the Peachland View. Her energy will be missed at the Chronicle, and we wish her all the best.
