Oliver and Osoyoos have a new option for medical care after the Nk’mip Resource Centre Walk-in Clinic has reopened for all in the community.

The clinic, located within the Osoyoos Indian Band (OIB) Health Centre, was formerly restricted to members of the OIB and has not been in operation for some time. The Times Chronicle understands that the health centre was open to everyone at one point but was unable to cope with the volume of patients and as such was restricted to OIB members.

The centre has been reopened and now operates a walk-in clinic for anyone without a family doctor. The clinic is the result of an initiative developed by the OIB and local general practitioner Dr. Robin Craven.

The walk-in clinic is open every Friday in August from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and does not require an appointment.

The clinic is located in the Nk’mip Resource Centre at the OIB Band Office, 1165 SenPokChin Blvd, Oliver. Phone: 250-498-6935.
