A craft brewery is hoping to open up shop in Osoyoos.
Applicant Sara van der Hoeven has “expressed interest in opening a licensed establishment at 3 Harbour Key Dr.,” states a report to council.
The applicant would require support from the Town of Osoyoos in order to proceed with a further application to the liquor distribution branch.
“The proposed location for a licensed establishment is in the hotel area of our community. A new liquor establishment fits in well with the tourist nature of this area,” states the council report authored by Gina MacKay, director of planning and development services.
Town staff are recommending council opt out of leading a public consultation process and delegate authority to MacKay to provide comments to the liquor control and licensing branch.
Council will have a chance to comment on the proposal at the May 21 regular meeting at Town Hall.
