A total of 1,748 FortisBC customers had their power  restored late Thursday morning after an outage hit homes in west Osoyoos from the border to Rd. 22. These customers lost power at 9:35 a.m. this morning.

A further 1,919 Fortis customers in the southern corner up to the border lost power at 9:36 a.m. and had their service restored by 9:47 a.m.

Businesses and homes on Main St. were also hit by a power surge at around 9:35 a.m.

FortisBC did not specify the cause of the outage.
