Several churches in Oliver joined together Sunday, July 14, in the town’s Community Park for an annual outdoor service.

A highlight was lively singing led by a joint band formed from the various congregations. The temperatures were high, so the attendees from Oliver and beyond took advantage of a well-stocked cooling and refreshment centre plus every scrap of shade they could find.

This allowed them to comfortably take in the exciting reports about a recent conference co-hosted with First Nations leaders and to be inspired by a call for continued unity and working together to benefit the town.

The kids enjoyed their own program, which thankfully included cool treats and water activities.
