Oliver firefighters recently returned from a motorhome fire that spread to the forest on Fairview Road near Madden Lake.
Firefighters were called to the scene at approximately 1 p.m. when flames from a motorhome began creeping into the bush. However, crews managed to stop the blaze before it got out of control.
Cpl. Christina Tarasoff from the Oliver RCMP said the RV was unoccupied at the time and no one was seen in the area.
She said it’s not clear how the fire started.
“Credit to some local residents who saw the smoke and called the fire in, staying to monitor the scene until fire (department) was able to attend.”
Fire department spokesman Rob Graham said there were no injuries to report.
