Frustration continues among victims of theft in Oliver.
Following on the heels of a break-in at the Royal Canadian Legion last week, police were called to Nor-Val Equipment Rental on Maple Avenue on March 10 for a break, enter and theft of a number of tools.
Oliver RCMP report that most of the tools were brand new Milwaukee gear that was yet to be marked by Nor-Val. The approximate value is $10,000, according to police.
The thief or thieves gained entry to the yard by breaking a fence lock and then entering through a secure door. The building was monitored by surveillance equipment, however, this was also stolen, along with a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee (2007) with BC License #KA575P. Some float money was also missing, police say.
Nor-Val is offering an award to anyone who finds or returns the tools, which include Milwaukee cordless nailers, hammer drills, cutoff saws, and staplers.
In another incident, three days prior on March 7, a complainant reported that he was working on his farm when someone stole his 2008 White GMC Sierra crew cab pick-up truck bearing BC marker G82954. Police say the keys were left inside.
It was reported the farmer followed the suspect and last saw his vehicle on Fairview Road. Some time later the Keremeos RCMP located the vehicle entering the community on Fairview, however, it failed to stop for police. The vehicle was not located and the matter remains under investigation.
