The BC Cancer agency is making getting checked for breast cancer more accessible with their mobile mammogram service, which will be visiting Oliver on January 19 and 20.

The mobile mammography service was first launched in 1990 by the Screening Mammography Program of BC and now visits more than 120 communities in the province that wouldn’t regularly have access to screening.

The program offers free screening to women over the age of 40 and no referrals are required. Women who have immediate family members with breast cancer are encouraged to get a mammogram every year.

Screenings will take place on January 19 and 20 and the mobile unit will be set up behind the Shoppers Drug Mart in Oliver. Appointments can be made by calling 1-800-663-9203.
