Director of Facilities Mitch Van Aller (shown here pointing during a school tour), is leaving School District 53 to work in the Central Okanagan district.
School District No. 53 confirms that Mitch Van Aller, its director of facilities, has accepted a position with School District 23 (Central Okanagan) as the director of operations.
Van Aller will start his new position in August.
The board wishes Van Aller all the best in his new position and thanks him for his outstanding service to students and staff in the district for the past 11 years. Van Aller was instrumental in overseeing the renovations and construction of Oliver’s new high school.
The district will begin the search for a new director of facilities immediately.
