Two more test-positive COVID-19 cases in the Interior Health region bring the total in the area to 130 Wednesday, while five deaths occurred in the past 24 hours province-wide.
Dr. Bonnie Henry, provincial health officer, and health minister Adrian Dix delivered the province’s daily update in Victoria Wednesday, announcing 45 new cases in B.C. for a total of 1,336 province-wide.
“It is no time for us to let up at all,” Henry said.
“Bend the curve not the rules this weekend.”
A total of 135 people are hospitalized in B.C. as of Wednesday, 10 of which are in the Interior Health region, down from the “high-point” of 139 province-wide on Saturday, Dix said.
The minister said this long weekend is not the time for people in B.C. to visit Alberta, and it’s not the time for people in Alberta to visit B.C.
“I strongly, strongly encourage people to stay home and not travel unnecessarily this weekend.”
