Laura Devries

My name is Laura Devries and I am Miss Osoyoos Credit Union. I currently attend the Osoyoos Secondary School and am in Grade 10. After I graduate, I plan to go to university where I will pursue a career in family counselling. Of my 15 years, I have lived in Osoyoos for 11, with my grandparents and older sister, Sarah. In my spare time, I enjoy figure skating at the Sun Bowl Arena. It is there that I volunteer to help teach young children the basics of skating. Some other activities I enjoy are baking, going for walks and reading. I joined the Royalty Program because you really get to learn a lot about your town, your peers and yourself. I have learned so much and gained so many new experiences. I added to my knowledge of Osoyoos, and learned some life long skills, such as public speaking. My first pageant in Summerland, was tons of fun. I met so many new people and made some great memories. I encourage everyone of the proper age to take part in the Royalty Program and see what it has to offer.

Taryn Aspell

My name is Taryn Aspell. I am Miss Cascade Stucco. My family moved to the South Okanagan in 2005. In my family I have an older sister, a twin brother and my Mom and Dad. This year I am in Grade 10 at Osoyoos Secondary School. I enjoy Ukrainian dancing, drawing and spending time with my family and friends. After high school, my short-term goal is to attend Law School and become a criminal defense lawyer. My long-term goal is to open my own practice and be successful. I volunteer at the Lake Osoyoos Sailing Club, and the Osoyoos and South Okanagan Physiotherapy and Active Wellness Centre. One of the reasons I joined the Royalty Program was because I was interested as to what I would gain from the Program including speech skills, and educating myself and giving back to my community. I also am fond of traveling and meeting new people.

Emmaleigh Diwell

My name is Emmaleigh Diwell. I am Miss Elks Lodge # 436. I’m 15 years old and am currently enrolled in Grade 10 at Osoyoos Secondary School. I am the eldest in a family of three boys and three girls. I have always loved being a part of a large family and have learned so much from it. I work at the local grocery store AG Foods and am a cashier there. Besides school and work, my interests and hobbies are reading and dancing. My future goal is to one day be a social worker since it combines the work of law with my passion for helping little kids. Last November my parents decided that our family needed a change so we moved 14 hours away from Fort St. John to Osoyoos. Ever since i moved here I have loved exploring the area and getting to know this spectacular town. I have also loved getting to meet some great people and make some amazing friends. One of these amazing friends told me about the Royalty program so I decided to check it out and honestly it has been one of the best decisions I have ever made and I have loved every moment of it. it has been a great experience which I will cherish forever.
