Local Osoyoos artists are showing the way they see things in their latest exhibit at the Art Gallery Osoyoos.
“The Way We See It,” on from Oct. 12 to Nov. 2 at the gallery, is a collection of art from paintings to sculptures, all made right here in Osoyoos.
Local artist and Art Gallery Osoyoos curator Claudia Punter is one of many artists on display, part of the group Artists on Main, who collaborate and share the upstairs studio above the art gallery. The group includes over 60 artists.
“Everyone could put paintings in the show, or three dimensional, and we want to show what we do. These are all local people showing what we can do, and hopefully get some new members,” Punter said at the opening reception for the exhibition.

Aside from shared studio space, the $5-a-year membership to Artists on Main will give creative-types the ability to submit to shows like this one. As well, once a month artists can participate in a “critique session,” though Punter admits it may be a bit of a misnomer.
“It’s not really a ‘critique,’ but you can bring your painting, finished or unfinished, and people can help you. If you are stuck somewhere then people can help you with that problem and give you some ideas,” Punter said.
