(The following letter was written to the BC Liberal government.)

Where in your wisdom do the seniors in BC count?

You have taken away the free ferry service for us. It was only service that was on non-peak days, Monday to Thursday. It did not include any vehicle, only passengers over 65 years of age.

Most people bought a meal or at least a coffee, so you lost more than you gained.

Hydro rates went up something like 5.5 per cent each year for the next five years. This was not necessary if you replaced the money you took from them (seniors) to balance the budget.

I have not heard that we have collected the money for hydro that California owes BC. If this is the case, then do not continue to supply them with power that we in BC have to pay for.

Insurance Corporation of BC rates went up again. The rates should be a lot lower if you decided to go after the careless drivers. People with many speeding tickets, accidents and other forms of poor driving should get much higher rates than the average driver.

Stop cutting school board budget allotments. It seems to me that you are cutting everybody else’s budget except your own.

Isn’t it time that you took a look at your own departments in the legislature? Start reducing your budget there, starting with the premier and her department on down.

Return the money to the seniors in Kelowna, unless you are planning to raid other seniors’ bank accounts. It seems to me that you are going to get our money one way or another.

What is this service fee of $135? Is it considered “beer money?”Or is it going somewhere useful like your salaries?

My pension increase was only 1.9 per cent. It is getting almost impossible to get by here. What was your salary increase for last year?
