A few locals are seeing a bit of stardom as they take part in the new movie ‘Secrets of a Marine’s Wife’ being filmed in Osoyoos and Oliver this month.
Filming in Osoyoos started on April 12 when the crew prepared the area for scenes around Main Street.
“It is exciting to have a new production company come to our region to film,” said Okanagan Film Commissioner Jon Summerland.
The film follows the true story of a young marine’s wife who has an affair which ends on a sour note.
Secrets of a Marine’s Wife stars Evan Roderick (Arrow) and André Anthony (Victoria Gotti). It’s produced by Charles Cooper.
Some local residents have been getting some screen time, including members of Oliver Osoyoos Search and Rescue, Willowbrook Volunteer Fire Department, Anarchist Fire Department and the Osoyoos RCMP.
Oliver firefighter Gus Nehring has been involved, and so has Willowbrook Fire Chief Tony Iannella.
One set that film crews were working on was a location near the Area 27 racetrack in Oliver. They were also filming around Skaha Bluffs in Penticton.
