THANKS TO ALL WHO HELPED OUT THE LEGION THIS YEAR

Editor:

The Executive and members of K. Knudston, Branch 173 of the Royal Canadian Legion wish to thank all the people and business owners that have supported the Legion by attending the Saturday Meat Draws, helping with Poppy distribution and supporting our entertainment efforts. Additionally, our personal thanks goes to our paid staff, and loyal volunteers, that have provided service second to none, and in doing so have supported Branch 173 and its capability to provide charitable donations.

Accordingly, because of this consistent and loyal support, the K. Knudston, Osoyoos Branch was able to divide and send charitable donations in excess of $11,000 to Charitable Organizations including Veteran Medical Centres, Secondary School graduates bursaries, the Osoyoos and District Food Bank and the Canadian Forces Troop Morale Fund. It is noteworthy that the list of organizations requesting financial support, including medical research groups, totals more than 35 in number, of which 26 received funding.

Branch 173 screens all the requests for donations, with the aim to provide funding to organizations that provide support to the local community and veteran support groups such as The Legion Foundation. This is not always possible, however, but for the most part, Branch 173 is able to adhere to the aforementioned criteria.

It is reiterated that none of the funding provided would have been possible without your support of our Branch activities. Thank you very much and have a great 2008.

Rick Lundin, PresidentrnK. Knudston, Branch 173, Osoyoos, B.C.
