CHRISTIAN VALUES PART OF CHRISTMAS
Editor:
Every year, since I became a Christian, I am appalled at one news item after another during Christmas time.
The latest, a school board has decided to continue with Operation Christmas Child despite the opposition from some parents that it promotes Christianity.
The board decided it didn't. Who would be against giving destitute children from any area of the world the bare necessities and maybe for the first time in their lives some goodies and toys, no matter what the beliefs of their parents?
It seems to me that in this country we want Christian values for our children and society, but don't mention Christ, especially at Christmas.
Thank you to all the merchants that continue with Merry Christmas versus Seasons Greetings and to everyone that supports programs such as Toys for Tots and Teens and the Food Bank, no matter what the religion of the receipts are.
Merry Christmas.
