RALLY ORGANIZER THANKS OSOYOOS

Editor:

This year was the inaugural running of the Crestline Trail Rally (September 5-6-7) and I can't believe the overwhelming support from the community of Osoyoos, Thank You!

On behalf of the organizing committee and our title sponsor Michael Mason and Co. Ltd., I would like to acknowledge some local support for our auto rally this year.

Earl Bakewell of Lordco Auto Parts, for the use of his store for technical check-in, registration and weekend tire storage; Diane Quast at the Holiday Inn, our host hotel, for fabulous service, great rooms and an ideal venue for our wine and cheese welcoming reception; and Smitty's Family Restaurant for the perfect patio dining area to hold our awards banquet at the end of the event.

Also, a special thanks to all the vineyards that supplied two bottles of wine for our welcoming reception on Friday night: Desert Hills Winery, Golden Beaver Winery, Inniskillin Okanagan, Nk'Mip Cellars, Silver Sage Winery, Stoneboat and Tinhorn Creek.

We received great press coverage and it seemed the whole town had heard of the rally.

Everyone had a great time in Osoyoos and environs; we're already looking at coming back next year!

If any local residents are interested in working as a check point crew, or maybe driving in the rally, or for more information on rallying in general, check out our website at www.islandrally.com
