Dear Editor:
Recently on another Okanagan media website, a new member of the Owl ball team voiced her personal opinion on the “Sorry state of affairs” of our ball facilities in Osoyoos.
She has no experience playing ball, she never discussed these concerns with team management and they are her opinions only.
Her opinion of our ball diamond compared to others in the valley as pathetic and embarrassing is not true.
Many teams consider our ball diamond the best in the league. The small flimsy storage shed she mentions is 100 per cent the Owl’s doing, not the town’s.
The mowing schedule is coordinated between the team and the town. It is mowed Tuesday before our games.
Access from the infield is the norm. It is not dangerous. The dugouts are courtesy of a grant offered to us from the town.
The taxpayers have no role to play in maintaining the field. As agreed upon between the town and the Owls, it is the responsibility of the Owls to regularly maintain the diamond.
Our relationship with the town is excellent and very much appreciated! We would like to keep it that way.
Debbie Armstrong,
On behalf of the Owl Senior Ball Team
Osoyoos, B.C.

Actually Debbie, I did not post as a member of the team. My opinion is shared by others as well. I have never seen you or your husband on the field playing. So apparently you are voicing your opinion on behalf of a team you don’t even play for.
