A five-day theatre camp for children aged seven to 12 is once again being held at Keremeos Grist Mill and Gardens next week.

This is the 10th annual Keremeos Story Theatre camp, a program of Lower Similkameen Community Services Society, funded with B.C. gaming proceeds.

The camp runs from Monday, Aug. 21 to Friday, Aug. 25 from 9 a.m. to noon and is a free program. A free public performance will be given at 11 a.m. on the Friday.

In past years, children have developed plays based on traditional folk tales and their own made-up stories in which they improvise scenes with costumes and items from bins supplied by the local Cawston Players amateur theatre club.

As in past years, teens are welcome to join in as volunteers.

Children under seven years may attend in the company of an adult caregiver.

Story Theatre registration forms are available at the Keremeos Branch of Okanagan Regional Library.

For more information, call Similkameen Family Literacy at 250-499-2352, local 107.
