Dear Editor:
Thank you for the great article on the Osoyoos Lake Water Quality Society!
Kudos to Denis Potter for being there for so many years; and to Alicia, one large Thank You for ALL of the work she did over the many years.
The actual organizers of the society were John Matthews, whose engineering background and love of the lake started to get the attention of others, and Vince Fourt was also extremely active and supportive in the original small group.
My husband, Lionel, joined shortly after our arrival in 1990, as the lake was just something that was so very close to his heart (it still is even though his health is compromised).
He held the position of president for many years until his health concerns commenced.
Through Dr. Jim Bryan, Lionel was also connected with Washington State and their state and local concerns and attended many meetings in that capacity.
The town has always been a strong supporter of the society, along with the Okanagan Basin Water Board and for many years the Ministry of the Environment worked closely with the Society.
Congratulations and “thank you” to all those past and present members working for the “Lake”.
Best of luck to the new board and continued successes.
Judy Dallas
Osoyoos, B.C.
