The cause of a house fire at 7145 Nk’Mip Vineyard Road on Monday was electrical in nature, according to the Oliver Fire Department.
“We do know it looks to have originated from an electrical box, but could not say what resulted in it catching fire” said media relations officer Rob Graham.
He reported that everyone made it out of the house, and a dog was rescued and returned to its owner.
Graham said there were no injuries to report.
He noted that structural, smoke and water damage was contained to the rear of the home.
“It did get into the attic and we did have to gain access to the attic by cutting into the ceiling,” Graham said.
