Oliver Fire Chief Bob Graham has been around the block, and he’s going around again for another three years.

The Town of Oliver has re-appointed the veteran firefighter as chief for another term.

This recommendation comes from the Oliver Fire Department Selection Committee.

Captain Ash Regner indicated that Graham’s years of service, training, certification and accomplishments are a few of the reasons the committee made the recommendation.

Fireman Bob, as local children affectionately call him, has been serving Oliver for the past 30 years.

“Chief Graham’s skills and years of experience have greatly benefited Oliver Fire Department and supports the continued delivery of fire protection services in the community,” said Mayor Martin Johansen.

Graham leads a department of 36 volunteer members and is responsible for the management and administration of the fire department, fire suppression, fire prevention operations and related emergency services.

Graham said he is looking forward to continuing to support the town and its residents.

“It is an honour to lead an incredible group of fire service professionals within the Oliver Fire Department,” he noted.
