gopherThe BC Winegrape Council is hosting a wildlife management seminar for staff or managers of orchards, vineyards and other crops.

The seminar is part of  a  new series of wildlife guides cover options for wildlife management and worker safety for black bear, ungulates, coyotes and wolves, snakes, rodents, cougars, and starlings. The guides have been funded by the BC Agricultural Council, RDOS and Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship Society.

 The seminars will feature presentations by Zoe Kirk, RDOS Wildsafe BC Community Coordinator and Margaret Holm from the Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance.

Topics covered include bear and rodent attractant management, fencing options, wildlife gates, predator deterrents, relocating snakes, bird deterrent options, worker safety supplies, and safety plans.

The first seminar will take place at Silver Sage Winery on Friday, March 21 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
