Toastmasters Cal Craik and Rachel Allenbrand show off their certificates after the International Speech Contest held at the Oliver Seniors Centre on March 4. The pair were presented with the certificates by contest chair Bill Greer. Allenbrand was awarded first place for her inspiring speech about the importance of positive thinking, and why it doesn’t come naturally for most of us. Craik won second place for his poignant speech about the importance of living for today.
