seemed that way in Oliver last Thursday night.
That was practice night for the Oliver Fire Department that quickly responded to a small fire in a house on Okanagan Street.
Members were practicing at the fire hall when they received a call about a fire in a residence near the Lutheran Centre church.
Fire department spokesman Rob Graham said they “rolled with everything” and discovered flames coming from a basement window.
Graham said the residents inside the home managed to escape without injury.
It didn’t take long to knock down the flames with water, he pointed out, noting the minor damage was contained to the window area.
Graham said the cause is still undetermined, adding that RCMP are investigating.
