The Town of Oliver has passed a bylaw to include fire control relating to mobile vending services.
Council recently gave first, second, and third reading to Fire Control Amendment Bylaw 1369.03. This will allow the fire chief to inspect mobile vending services in town.
Corporate Officer Diane Vaykovich said the bylaw will accommodate the inspection of mobile vendors.
She noted that Okanagan Valley fire chiefs are collaborating on developing a universal inspection checklist for mobile vending operations to ensure proper standards are met. Adoption of the bylaw is expected on Aug. 8.
