An Oliver family managed to get out of a Road 18 house fire safely on March 5 but is mourning the death of a pet.
The fire department responded to a report of smoke coming from the home at approximately 5 p.m. on Sunday. Upon arrival, crews noted the family made it out safely.
Firefighters vented the heavy smoke from the structure and made entry to attack and extinguish the blaze.
The structure reportedly sustained heavy smoke, fire and water damage. A family pet reportedly died in the incident.
There was no report of what caused the fire.
